CAMINO, LA LUZ DEL SILENCIO- THE PATH, THE LIGHT OF SILENCE.

Encrucijada.

Triste sombra.

Los frutos del nogal están negros.

THE PATH, THE LIGHT OF SILENCE.

Crossroads.

Blinded, I fell to the ground.

Twenty-sixth October two thousand nineteen. Eight forty-two in the morning. I return to the Basajaunberro forest in Roncesvalles.

There is something that moves me to repeat the journey over and over again, something that ties me down.

- The encounter, I just look for the encounter with everything around me. The encounter with beauty, and with the light that emanates from silence.

At this hour of the morning the leaves of the trees and the blades of grass are soaked with the dew of dawn and the traces of my steps are imprinted on the muddy ground.

I look at the autumn leaves; I see how the wind moves them. The light of dawn illuminates them as it looks for a place to shelter. Then I only look for one of them, the one that joins me to the sun to embrace us.

Perhaps it is time to see them fall, perhaps to contemplate them still on the branches of the trees? I am late, they are already on the ground. Everything is ephemeral. What will be left when autumn passes?

Empty road,

welcomed into silence,

steps are absent.

The light penetrates the mist of the forest.

Now it is autumn and the soul, through its eyes, is impregnated with the brilliant colours of rain and the aromas of damp earth. From the balcony of my house I hardly see any pilgrims passing by Arritokieta. I miss the sun. At night I miss the moon; the heavy rain hides it.

Sad shade.

The fruits of the walnut tree are black.
